Síndrome de Maffucci e condrossarcoma

Resumo
Introdução: A síndrome de Maffucci caracteriza-se por múltiplos encondromas subcutâneos e pode ser complicada por condrossarcoma da base do crânio, tumor maligno raro, mas produtor de matriz cartilaginosa que invade a cortical óssea e o tecido medular.
Objetivo: Revisar essa síndrome e sua correlação com condrossarcoma.
Método: Revisão narrativa baseada em informações publicadas com material para leitura e análise selecionado em editoras virtuais, SciELO, BVS - Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, Pubmed e Scopus. Inicialmente foi realizada busca por descritores relacionados ao tema, existentes no DeCS/MESH utilizando os seguintes termos: “tumor da base do crânio, condrosarcoma, síndrome de Maffucci” e seus correspondentes em inglês com busca AND ou OR, considerando o título e/ou resumo.
Resultado: Após análise dos artigos pertinentes foram selecionados 40 artigos que foram incluídos nesta revisão.
Conclusão: Deve-se ter alto grau de suspeita de lesões da base do crânio em pacientes com síndrome de Maffucci
