Videos
BioSCIENCE provides the medical and healthcare community with the opportunity to disseminate through videos information about significant contributions to the advancement of science, clinical-surgical practice and healthcare specialties. The main focus are videos of general acts or procedures in the treatment of human beings and/or for the best performance of related professions. Videos of new procedures, updates of already known techniques, and others that, according to the authors' opinion, deserve dissemination are welcome. Like everything published in BioSCiENCE, videos are also submitted to the peer-review process by the journal's ad-hoc reviewers. They should be short and edited.
The videos can also be educational and aim to provide opportunities for physical examination maneuvers, interpretation of various exams, day-to-day difficulties faced by healthcare professionals, socio-educational behaviors and others, which can be disseminated with or without images. The purpose is to improve reading and/or viewing to improve health care.
This section is also intended to demonstrate techniques to provide guiding details on how to carry out a procedure/health care. It’s like a “cake recipe” for a certain act that may deserve precise technical knowledge. Examples: how to dress burns, splints for temporary immobilization, etc.
