Infographics (information + graph) are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by using graphics to enhance the human visual system's ability to see patterns and trends, as in the case of a pie chart when explaining internal structure of scientific study. A good static infographic should align the images with the information and empty spaces. In other words, an infographic is a tool that serves to transmit information through the use of images, drawings and other graphic visual elements. In this sense, it is understood that infographics seeks to transmit information, not only through texts, but also through visual resources, such as: maps, drawings, bar graphs, “pizza” graphs, among others.
